In a bizarre partnership that challenges usual expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an virtual collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Uncovered

According to the official announcement, "A mysterious meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where whispers of forbidden rituals and terrifying transformations resonate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret cult.

The questline focuses on "peculiar tests and a monstrous enemy" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Familiar Locations and Metamorphoses

The preview showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Items and Additional Features

Players who finish the adventure will acquire an exclusive katana alongside multiple objects hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

Latest Free Story Update

This release also introduces the game's latest complimentary story episode, titled "The Enigma." This playful adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive techniques: Naoe debuts a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
