Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Prosecutors report that a ex- physician now faces charges for committing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.

Details of the Grave Allegations

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

A deputy chief CPS official commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Police Inquiry

The charges follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

List of Offences

The charging documents outline the 45 charges comprise:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • 17 counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Authorities have asked anyone with concerns to contact the investigating team.
