Recent Information Surface About the Discovery of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains
Recent details have emerged about the untimely demises of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were located at their residence home on Sunday.
The Discovery
According to a report referencing a person close to the family, a massage therapist arriving for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after failing to get inside the residence. This individual then got in touch with the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who resides in the vicinity.
After gaining access to the house, Romy discovered her father's body. Accounts indicate she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was also present. Another individual who had accompanied her contacted 911. Subsequently, paramedics discovered Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Charges
Law enforcement have formally accused the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of murder in the first degree, as well as the charge related to a weapon, said to be a knife. He is presently being held and is ineligible for bail.
Correcting the Record
The person close to the family questioned several initial details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick resided in a guesthouse on the property, she did not identify him as a suspect at that time.
The source also pushed back against circulated suggestions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been particularly "worried" about Nick's actions in the weeks leading up to the incident. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation also extends to reports of reportedly "erratic" conduct by Nick at a gathering thrown by Conan O'Brien on the night before the tragedy. While the source noted they were not in a position to confirm whether Rob had "scolded" his son at the party, they maintained that suggestions of a "heated argument" between the two were untrue.
Investigation Details
As stated by law enforcement sources, the coroner had yet to determine at that point whether the Reiners died on Saturday evening or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts suggested the state of their bodies implied they had been dead for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was taken into custody at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park, roughly 15 miles from the scene. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not been medically cleared and would not appear until Wednesday or later.
