19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player won his maiden championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid period, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and issues with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with former trainer Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Moutet.

It is Medvedev's initial title following the Rome competition and first on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.

Success also indicates Medvedev has won 21 victories at 21 various events.

"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to win a championship is really nice," said tennis professional the champion.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, featuring in that event earlier this year.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and regular outbursts on court had prompted some to doubt if his capacity to compete at the highest level was concluded.

However the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and play aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced service.

Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

The competitors traded break points in the second set before the challenger, striving for his maiden tour title, gained dominance to create a final set.

Moutet rescued 4 initial opportunities in a close deciding set before the champion won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev clinched victory with a point at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a shot after a lengthy match.
